Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to every order placed on www.john-torrens.com. By placing an order you agree to them, so please read them before you buy.

1. About us

This website is operated by True Rock (Pty) Ltd, company registration number 2019/461898/07, VAT number 4940320601. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to True Rock (Pty) Ltd.

2. Our products

We sell physical printed books. Product images are for illustration, and the cover or finish of the book you receive may differ slightly from what you see on screen.

3. Placing an order

When you place an order you are making an offer to buy the books in your cart. We accept that offer when your payment has been confirmed, and we then send you an order confirmation by email.

We may decline or cancel an order if a book is unavailable, if a price or description was shown incorrectly, or if payment is not authorised. If you have already paid, we will refund you in full.

4. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR). The delivery fee is shown at checkout before you pay.

Payments are processed securely by Payfast. We do not receive or store your card details. Your order is processed once Payfast confirms your payment.

5. Delivery

We deliver within South Africa only. Deliveries are made by courier partners arranged through Bob Go.

The delivery options, fees and estimated delivery times for your address are shown at checkout. Delivery times are estimates and can be affected by the courier or by events outside our control.

Please make sure your delivery address and contact number are correct. If a parcel is returned to us because the address was wrong or nobody was available to receive it, a second delivery fee may apply.

6. Cancelling an order

If you need to cancel, contact us as soon as possible with your order number. If your order has not yet been handed to the courier, we will cancel it and refund you. Once an order has been dispatched, our Refund and Returns Policy applies.

7. Returns and refunds

Returns and refunds are handled under our Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

9. Intellectual property

All content on this website, including text, images, book covers, video and logos, belongs to True Rock (Pty) Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute it without our written permission.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or from a delay in delivery that is outside our control.

11. Your personal information

We handle your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown on this page on the date you place your order is the one that applies to that order.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
